The author converses with five noted scholars who have done important academic work in the United States since the 1980s.The conversations address academic agendas and university life dilemmas in the vicinity of the signs "Latin" and "Hispanic" in the United States. The volume addresses Spanish / English relations, literature and culture, history and theory (post-colonial, subaltern, etc.).The volume includes a prologue and an epilogue. Each chapter constitutes an extensive interview with one of these colleagues.
