From Mountains to Mangroves

Pakistan is a geographical gem-a land with the greatest change in elevation within any sovereign state on earth, from 0 metres at Sonmiani Bay to 8,611 metres at the summit of K-2. Such dramatic changes in altitude have resulted in incredibly diverse ecosystems with wildlife ranging from snow leopards up in the high mountains to marine turtles on the coast. This book, written by the pioneering Pakistani environmental journalist, Rina Saeed Khan, is an attempt to
highlight some of this amazing diversity. From Mountains to Mangroves informs the reader about the many inspiring stories of conservation activities taking place across Pakistan. The sixteen stories in
the book are penned in an engaging, personal manner with rigorous research endorsed by WWF-Pakistan. An important record of the recent conservation history of Pakistan, these stories have been selected from the author's many travels over the past two decades to far-flung areas ranging from the Karakoram Mountains to the Makran Coast.
