Excel Advanced Skills - Advanced Mathematics Year 4

Year 4 Advanced mathematics is part of the Excel Advanced Skills series which provides students with challenging extension work in Mathematics. Each book in the series supports the requirements of the Australian Curriculum (Mathematics) and covers the Strands of Number and Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability.

FEATURES OF THIS BOOK:
Section 1

This section consists of twelve double-page units of teaching and learning activities. Each page provides questions on specific topics from the Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics or Probability areas of the syllabus.

• Unit A provides skills practice.
• Unit B provides problem-solving practice of the skills covered in Unit A.

Section 2

This section consists of 30 carefully graded double-page units of teaching and learning activities. Each page provides questions from all areas of the syllabus: Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability.

• Unit A provides extensive revision practice in skills-type questions.
• Unit B provides extensive practice in problem-solving questions.

Two marking grids are provided to record results. These easy-to-use diagnostic tools indicate at a glance each student's strengths and weaknesses in relation to specific topics. The results can be used to gather information about their progress and revision needs.

Two NAPLAN-style tests revise the knowledge students have gained from the units.

Worked solutions are provided for every question to support students' learning. Answers are also provided in bold for quick reference.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
