This book brings ethnicities into focus by presenting contemporary ethnic discourses that capture and highlight disjuncture within the concept of the idealized “globalizing” world.In recent years and despite many writings about globalization and the melding of differences, there remain strong forces that continue to exacerbate ethnic differences in communication as well as other important areas. This volume addresses this phenomenon through research-based investigation of ethnic and racial issues and covers topics such as health issues, networks, media, and coping. It captures key ethnicities including a growing Hispanic population, native Americans, Middle Easterners, and Asian Americans.
