Curious Public Administrator

Rooted in the notion that public administrators must practice insatiable curiosity to be effective, fair, and democratic. Serves as a roadmap for developing a new doctrine of curiosity in public administration theory and practice. Begins by exploring the role of curiosity in other fields, such as management, psychology, medicine, and education, to develop a definition of curiosity for the public administration discipline – and then apply it.Collects data from case studies of curious public organizations (agencies and nonprofits) and public managers and offers new data from original surveys of municipal leaders and public affairs faculty, to best align curiosity in public affairs education and training.
