There are several 'blockbuster' veterinary textbooks on the market, the biggest competitor being Ettinger's Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine Expert Consult, 8E (2 volumes). However, this book is more practical and accessible, with a great percentage of high quality illustrations. Our problem-based approach is ideal for beginners and even intermediate students. Very few veterinary textbooks have such a rich emphasis on photographs: the endoscopic and radiographic, CT and MRI images are particularly impressive.
